Fukushima Tamotsu is a Japanese artist known for his work on
Edo-koma – traditional wooden spinning tops from the Edo period.

Founded in 1974 by current director Inoue Shigeyoshi, the Japan Toy Museum (@JapanToyMuseumChannel) in Himeji, Hyōgo Prefecture, aims to preserve toy cultures from past eras from loss. Among the 90,000 toys and materials from over 160 countries, the museum has a rich collection of 'koma' (spinning tops). Film director Tsujikawa Koichiro has researched some of these spinning tops and is showing them in the exhibition 'Design Discoveries', currently on display at Japan House London.
