Anton Schimmer - precision parts made of wood Anton Schimmer - from exporter to manufacturer The company was founded in 1917 by businessman Anton Schimmer in Tachov (now the Czech Republic). They produced beads and wood carvings made of wood and artificial horn, which were then sold all over the world. After World War II in 1945, all Germans were expropriated and deported from the Sudetenland, including the Schimmer family.
Production could be continued temporarily in Warmenstein in Pichtelgebirge in a disused carpentry shop. However, many regular customers remained loyal to the company, so that in 1950 a new start was possible in Schlitz near Bamberg. A new company building was built, which has since been constantly expanded and renovated. Today, the company is already run by the fourth generation as a family business.
