Yossi Tor was captured by the Syrians during the Yom Kippur War, and some of his creativity within the prison walls gave him and the prisoners around him hope. The Syrian interrogators who tortured him told him to "crush your palms" so that you could be of no use.
During the year he was in prison and in order to translate the joy of Hanukkah, he asked permission from his friends to take some of the solid soap they received from the guards, from which he carved and created a spinning wheel and wrote the letters נ, ג, ה, פ with charcoal (in the picture the spinning wheel is made of santbon.
After returning from the Syrian prison, he was drawn to wood crafts inspired by the Jewish world (there is a link attached).
In addition to Judaica products, Yossi, together with Nadav Bechor, created spinning wheels made of Schneibitz plywood, 8 layers of colorful skateboard wood.
