Gerhard Gollnest and Fritz-Rüdiger Kiesel started selling toys in 1981. Over the years, the small two-person business in Hamburg has grown into the largest toy manufacturer in northern Germany. Today, the company is based in Guster and employs more than 450 people worldwide. With a range of more than 2,000 items, it is also one of the largest manufacturers of wooden toys in the world. Up to 200 product developments see the light of day every year. 20 million toys are delivered to more than 80 countries annually.
Sustainability "Anyone who takes something from nature must also give something back," says Fritz-Rüdiger Kiesel. That's why we donate a new forest to Schleswig-Holstein, the most sparsely forested state in Germany, every year. One tree for every newborn child. More than 400,000 beech, oak and maple trees have been planted since 2004.
